Many of today’s MP3 players can do more than just play music. They can also play video files. When getting a video MP3 player it will be valuable to check out some important factors that can vary among different video MP3 players.

All video MP3-players will play video files that come in different formats. While the WMV format is generally supported among most MP3 players other formats will vary for certain players. For instance, the MPEG4 format or the AVI format may not be supported by all players. XVID files are also supported by some players but not all will cover these files.

The display that is used is also important. Some players can work with screens that are as large as three inches in size. Others can work with only two inches. Either way a player can vary in terms of the resolution that is supported. Most players can support QVGA resolution of 320×240. The 320×200 CGA resolution format is used on some players too. These smaller resolution formats will be used primarily because of how with them it will be easier for files to be played at thirty frames per second.

Different players can work with horizontal displays like with what is found on a standard television set. This can happen through sensors in some players that work to change displays depending on how the user tilts the screen.

Some players can even work with TV-Out cables. This is where the media that is being displayed on the video MP3-player can be displayed on a larger television set. Most groups that make video players with this support will not provide these cables with their players though. These cables will be sold separately.

With video files taking up more disk space on an MP3 player than audio files it will always help to watch for the amount of disk drive space that a player has. Many of today’s most popular players can work with hard drives of up to sixteen gigabytes in space. This can provide for hours of video entertainment on one device. It will help to find a good player that has a large enough hard drive for one’s video needs.

The last part of a video MP3-player deals with the battery of the player. Video files will use a battery faster than audio files would. However many players can work with batteries that can play five or more hours of video on a full charge.

Those are all great factors to watch for when looking for a video MP3 player. They include the display and support for files along with the space and energy that the player can work with. By using these factors the best player can be found for one’s needs.
